Dean’s Message

The establishment and development of Lingnan (University) College [L(U)C] at Sun Yat-sen University has been a pioneering step in the opening-up and reform of Chinese education.Over the past twenty years, under the guidance of the nation’s educational strategies and policies, L(U)C has embraced both creation and reform, achieved rapid progress in teaching, research, and gained a strong national eputation.

The Board of Trustees of L(U)C has actively and enthusiastically raised more than two hundred million HK dollars in support of education. So far, it has helped to construct twelve buildings, and established the Educational Fund and the Teaching and Research Development Fund. The Lingnan Foundation also has made a great contribution to our faculty and students.

Over the past twenty years, we have initiated various educational reforms and set up new programs in the fields of economics and management. We have developed academic exchanges with prominent institutions in the U.S. and Europe.

We have established the MBA program in conjunction with MIT Sloan School of Management, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and EM Lyon. The outstanding research achievements of our faculty as well as our academic accomplishments have enhanced L(U)C academic status and social prestige. Following the tradition of “Education for Service”, L(U)C continues to train a generation of talent and foster with a global perspective, spirit of creativity, practical skills, and a sense of social responsibility. L(U)C aspires to be a first-rate national and a well-known international business school, and to make greater contribution to the country and society.
